David Littlewood is CEO. David's background is in sales and marketing. He was most recently Managing Director, World-Wide Financial Services, for Microsoft. His group drove $2.2-billion in revenue in 2006. He was at Sun in field sales, then field sales management, and finailly in corporate sales/marketing strategy..
Tom Atwood is VP Engineering. Tom's background is in engineering and product-based strategic partnering. He founded Object Design, the market leader among the pure-play object DBMS companies of the 1990’s. Object Design IPO’d in 1996 and reached a peak market cap of $1-billion. He has been turn-around CEO, or turn-around Chairman for two private software companies and one public software company since then.
Jim Hendler is Chief Scientist. Jim is widely recognized as one of the inventors of the Semantic Web. At DARPA he funded the early DAML-OIL work. He co-chaired the W3C working group which produced the Ontology Web Language (OWL). He was co-director of the MIND laboratory at the University of Maryland, which produced the well known Swoop ontology editor and the Pellet description logic reasoner. He is currently a senior professor at RPI, and Associate Director of the Web Science Research Institute headquartered at MIT.
Craig Schaffert is Director of Language Products. Craig has a long history of building elegant language bindings for database management systems and persistent object stores. Of most relevance to Ruby on Rails: he designed the CLU object programming language for his PhD at MIT. Ruby incorporates several of the ideas that were first introduced in CLU.
